THE DETAILS

What happens to your file

01

Formats

Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG. Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM. Video soundtracks are extracted in your browser.

02

Conversion

A local media decoder turns the file into audio. A local pitch model estimates note pitches and timing, then writes a standard MIDI file. Nothing is sent to a conversion server.

03

Accuracy

Clear single instruments and melodies work best. Dense mixes, drums, reverb, vocals, and noise can create wrong or missing notes. Check and edit the MIDI in your DAW.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Good to know

Is this an audio to MIDI or WAV to MIDI converter?

Yes. This single tool handles MP3 to MIDI, WAV to MIDI, and the other listed audio formats. It also extracts sound from supported video files before transcription. A listed file extension does not guarantee that every codec inside it can be decoded.

Is there a file size or recording length limit?

There is no fixed limit in this page. Long or large recordings need more browser memory and processing time and may fail on your device. The output is an estimate, so check its notes and timing.

Does the MIDI include the original sound?

No. MIDI stores estimated note events and timing, not the recorded audio. Your DAW or player supplies the instrument sound.

Do I need to sign in or upload the recording?

No. This site is a set of static files. Your browser downloads the page, the decoder, and the note model once, then runs them locally. There is no upload endpoint and no server-side conversion. Your recording is read by JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your own browser tab.

Can this MIDI converter transcribe a whole song perfectly?

No. The model estimates notes from a mixed recording and may miss instruments or invent notes. Use the output as an editable starting point.
